Jeep
Jeep is een automerk. Daarnaast wordt de term ook vaak gebruikt om 4x4-terreinwagens te omschrijven: de zogenaamde SUV's (sports utility vehicles). De Jeep is een vierwielig door een motor aangedreven voertuig met een voor- en een achterbank, ongeveer ter grootte van een personenauto, van oorspronkelijk Amerikaanse origine. Er bestaan verschillende verhalen over het ontstaan van de naam Jeep. Het oorspronkelijke model Jeep is ontstaan als gevolg van een ontwerpwedstrijd uitgeschreven door het Amerikaanse leger.
